ill be honest, i dont have any plans for it. squarebracket made sense during a time where i still made videos. but i dont really make videos like i used to anymore. i stopped making those in like the start of 2024. my most popular videos that year were actually ai slop trying to capitalize on some random typek shitpost that went somewhat viral.
i was originally planning on relaunching squarebracket on january 31st 2025 (4 head anniversary of the og poktube launch), but honestly i just cant fucking do it anymore. now i did work on opensb a little bit in private before this so actually the version on github isn't exactly up to date, but like. i dont care. opensb was only open source because it started off with recycled boilerplate-esque code from roller’s open source agpl-licensed principia-web codebase. i might push the newer updated codebase (opensb 1.3 beta 3 or 4?) onto github sometime in the future in case someone out of their mind wants to work on opensb, even though the codebase is horse shit. its weirdly designed and while i wanted to refactor it into opensb 2.0, it depended on a person who ultimately fucked me over.
squarebracket could come back in like half a year if i get motivated enough, but honestly don't count on this.
no, the data is not moving to kylarz’s squarebracket, the plans for that fell apart. and no, i’m not giving away/selling/lending the domains to anyone. its shiypc’s domains, not actually mine.
if you really really need an upload of yours* recovered, reach out to me or shiypc. note that if you previously deleted the upload then that shit’s gone unless if it maybe sits in like one of the 8 personal backups i have of this site.
*to avoid confusion for the people who know squarebracket as “fulptube” (due to the domains and an inside joke). this does not refer to uploads from the original fulptube from 2020-2021 (a friend of one of the former og fulptube admins told me sometime back in 2022 that the only backup of it was long gone) nor the uploads from shiypc’s fulptube.org (he deleted the files to it).
